Tournaments
How do you run a tournament on IFC? From your organization's page.
What to remember
- Create a competition and pick a format: Tournament (groups, then a knockout stage), Cup (knockout only) or League (everyone plays everyone). Give it a name and a start date.
- Add the teams. Each captain gets an invitation to confirm their team's place. In the app, you can also let teams register themselves and approve their requests.
- Generate the schedule. The groups and matches are drawn for you, and match dates follow your start date. You can move a whole matchday, or a single match.
- Both captains enter the score: if they match, the result is confirmed. If not, you settle it: enter the right score, or declare a forfeit.
- Every confirmed result updates the standings and both teams' Elo in your organization's ranking. The next round starts on its own, all the way to the final, and the tournament closes with its champion.
Good to know
- Teams must be linked to your organization to play its competitions.
- Standings are ordered by points, then goal difference, then goals scored.
- Registration rooms (on the web) gather teams first, then split them into several tournaments.
- A competition can carry an entry fee, a deposit and a reward in coins: see Economy.
